The Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO) canvassed some 14500 shoppers from 15 countries, including the UK and three quarters of them said companies should actively support community development in developing countries.
82% of British consumers knew the Fairtrade mark.
This provides great opportunities for progressive socially minded retailers to present these niche products and profit as a consequence.
