How will the global credit crunch impact British PPP/PFI projects?
How is the credit crunch affecting Public Private Partnerships and Private Finance Initiatives? A panel of experts recently debated the future of PPP/PFI projects in the current economic climate, discussions included banks’ confidence in lending, falling Government tax revenues, taxpayer value for money and public sector debt. The majority of the panel concluded that there was still a place for PPP/PFI projects, but that the structure of the funding arrangements will have to change.
